Today is day 16 of 'My Big Fat Juice Cleanse'. We have passed the half way mark!!! 15 more days to go. To be honest, it feels like I've been doing this for much longer then 15 days. It is a lot of work. Shopping, prepping, juicing, cleaning the juicer, not to mention cooking for the rest of the family. Okay, enough of my whining, I'm half way through!!
With the rapid weight loss I've experienced, I've been thinking about exercise...ugggh. Not a bit fan of intentional exercise. I love yoga, do that twice a week. But it's not like exercising. I do it with a group of women I adore, in the Niagara Kayak Rentals garage. We do an hour class together twice a week. It is a very special time for me, we laugh, we sometimes cry, we support one another in these precious 2 hours. So, for me that doesn't feel like exercise. Going to a gym...running...these feel like intentional exercise to me. I know I have to do more then yoga...this weight is shedding fast...I don't want to wake up and look at myself in the mirror naked looking like I'm wearing a Squirrel Suit. What is a squirrel suit you ask?...ever see those guys that jump off mountains and cliffs without a parachute?, then they open their arms and legs and their outfit looks like a flying squirrel. Well, I think you get the picture...not pretty...must tone.
I'm thinking I could probably commit to 30 min a day of brisk walking. I know my dog would love it. Beyond that, well I just don't know. Maybe flying squirrels are kind of cute, and besides, that is what spanx were invented for.
Juice of the day!
GONE IS THE WIND (thank you fennel)
1/4 Bulb of Fennel
2 Big handfuls of Spinach
2 Celery Ribs
2 Carrots
1 sm Key Lime
I think you should do a dance class :) If not pole something else! its so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI would love to do a pole class, I haven't been on the pole since I was paying my way through school 30 years ago...just kidding...never been on the pole. Sure sounds fun though...perhaps ballroom dance class would be more my speed. :)
DeleteROTFLMAO - Squirrel suit - too funny. Leeann, don't dismiss walking. When I lost 57lbs back in 2005 that was my only exercise (besides yoga). Start small - when I began, I would walk around the block, each week I would add a block. That's not possible in your neighbourhood - LOL, so walk one way down the pkwy for 15min - turn around and return. 30min - done. Each week add 5 min. I worked up to an hour and then picked up my pace for that hour walk and found out I could do it in about 43min after 6-8months. That's when I decided to try running. As for yoga, hold the poses longer and add more sun salutations. Free weights are also easy to use. Lot's of online videos. Good luck - build that muscle mass.
ReplyDeleteThanks for making me laugh so hard - at work. "busted"
Don't worry, I haven't dismissed walking...I just don't want to exercise. I envy your love of it...I just not feeling the love :(
