To day is day 12 of 'My Big Fat Juice Cleanse'. I was talking with a friend today who is interested in doing a 3 to 5 day juice cleanse. She was asking me for recipe ideas. There are a ton of web sites that can give you recipes, but I have my own favourites. I made these up based on what I wanted from the cleanse. My focus is my Liver...big surprise to many of you...not. Not only am I interested in cleaning out all the toxins from my recent surgery, medications (including those wonderful painkillers, gonna miss those), radiation treatments and over the counter medications I've been using, I've got some old repairs to make. Wine, wine, wine, what a friend it has been over the years. I do love red wine...we have been close for years. Then I met Don Julio (tequila) in Mexico, I've been seeing him on and off for a couple years...mostly on! My love of a good cocktail or a great glass of wine has left my liver crying for help. Don and I broke up...and my love affair with Merlot has been downgraded to 'just friends'.
There are many vegetables and fruits that do wonderful things for your liver. I'm not going to bore you with what they do, but I have included a great many of them in my recipes. The first 2, are my lfavourites, and I have them everyday. The others are great for the liver, but I have them less often.

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of buying a juicer! Keep up the good work, the great blog and post more recipes! Thanks LA
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy, I'm going to try and post a recipe a day...get a juicer, you won't be sorry.
DeleteI love the name of your juices.
ReplyDeleteThe Colour Purple should be renamed The Excorist!
ReplyDeleteCorrection: Exorcist. Hard to spell when you are talking on the big white phone.
ReplyDeleteDon't be hatin on the cabbage! I love it :)
