Today is day 10 of 'My Big Fat Juice Cleanse'. All is well at the start of this fine day...I know...what is she so cheery about? The scale bitches!! I'm down exactly 9 lbs in 9 days...and I feel good! I did a yoga class yesterday for the first time in a very long time. I think my last class was sometime in late November. I should add here that I have lost some 20 lbs since my last cancer treatment. So there was a lot less of me in class yesterday. So back to the class...I thought it was going to be brutal for me...thought I might need to use a chair for the class (not that there is anything wrong with that, all you chair yoga class enthusiasts), but I didn't. I felt great. My flexibility has improved since the last class, so has my endurance (less shaking through a pose, more ohmmming). I'm convinced its the juice that is giving me this feeling.
Before I started this cleanse, I was taking a stomach med daily for acid, an anti inflammatory for joint pain, and an anti histamine for allergies, and to help me sleep. In the morning, I couldn't get out off bed without serious joint pain. I thought this was all age related stuff. (Oh my God, I sound like one of those crazy infomercial testimonials). Well, here's the money shot: I'm not taking anything anymore, and I haven't taken anything since the first day of this cleanse. I am joint pain free, I have no allergy symptoms, my stomach has never felt more settled, and I'm sleeping like the dead. All with the added bonus of a pile of lost weight. This has all been achieved for FREE. No money down, no weekly fee, no membership rates...just me and my 25 year old juicer...that's right, it is 25 years old. Glad I didn't get rid of it, even though I thought of it several times over the years.
I have researched juicers lately, since my sister was looking for one. I have some recommendations if interested. My sister purchased the Breville Juice Fountain Plus. A great juicer at a cost of 200 bucks at Canadian Tire. They can be found online for a little less...but there is probably going to be shipping added. My juicer is the Champion Juicer. It sells for 259 bucks online at the CJ web site, it is on sale, regular price is 329. I know they are expensive, but if you think about it, my juicer has cost me just over 10 bucks a year, and it still works like new. You can also purchase them from eBay Or kijiji for much less. Happy juicing :)
